This sporting event was created with the aim of making the Tuscan Maremma known in its entirety.
10 athletes will participate, with the confirmed presence of two international professionals, and will cover 578 km and 14,200 m of altitude variation on E-MTB immersed in nature (wooded paths, dirt roads, and only 20% asphalt) in about 37 hours.
Departure and arrival are scheduled at the Bike Garage & More which is located in the heart of Massa Marittima, in a small cloister off of the Piazza Garibaldi, considered one of the most beautiful late medieval squares in Italy.
The Maremma Challenge In this first edition, Massa Marittima will present the 3M Circuit (Unione di Comuni Montana Colline Metallifere), a ring trail of about 60 km linking the municipalities of Massa Marittima, Monte Rotondo, Montieri, and, eventually, Roccastrada.
In addition to the athletes, some of the most important international journalists in the sector will also be present.
This exciting challenge will allow Maremma to become a destination of excellence at an international level for slow and sustainable sports tourism.
In fact, the 578 km route can be enjoyed by riders/cyclists according to their preferences and abilities in total autonomy.
The UISP Maremma Challenge by Maremma Eco-Sustainable Mobility ASD will be utilized to certify passage of riders in each stage of the circuit in the Road Book. Those who finish the Grand Tour within 12 months of departure will receive as a prize a local product from the territory.
